Mount Crosby Road is part of DTMR Local Roads of Regional Significance (LRRS) and forms part of the District Road network that runs westerly from Mogill Road in Anstead to the Mount Crosby Road / Warrego Highway interchange at Chuwar. The interchange incorporates a two-way two-lane overpass bridge and two roundabouts providing eastbound and westbound on/off ramps north and south of the Warrego Highway. On his section of the road, DTMR were investigating the option of providing a Pedestrian/cyclist shared Bridge, including ramps to provide a means for cyclists and pedestrians to safely cross the Warrego Highway.
Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) engaged ARUP/Bellwether to provide a price to investigate options and develop a lite business case for traffic improvements on the Mount Crosby – Warrego Highway Interchange that included a Pedestrian/Cycle shared bridge.
Bellwether provided an extensive report of our deliverables that included key assumptions and methodology used to prepare the cost estimate that included the following:
Bellwether provided three options and as result DTMR chose option 3 to be progressed to the cost estimate stage. DTMR have reviewed the overall costing provided and as a result decided to proceed with a dedicated pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Warrego Highway to the west of the Mount Crosby Road overpass.
