Project Description
This design and construction project involved the widening, reforming, resurfacing, signage and linemarking of existing roads and intersections within the Kokoda Barracks, and on local council roads that interface with the facility.
New works on this project included guard houses, public carparks, overflow carparks and roadworks performed under live traffic and to TMR standards.
Bellwether Contribution
As the Principal Contractor, Bellwether implemented the construction phase of the project including the design, project management, project engineering, site supervision, construction activities and client liaison.
The key challenges of this project included:
- Construction of the works in an interface rich, high security, operational facility
- Stakeholder management; including ADD, Augility, Scenic Rim Regional Council, the contractor, the contractor’s designer and subcontractors
- Approval and access protocols
- Time constraints
