TRANSPORT
This project aimed to improve the road safety for users along Samford Road in Strathpine between, Queen Elizabeth Drive and Serendipity Drive. The project included the provision of Wide Centre Line Treatment (WCLT) and Safer Roadside upgrades.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) required the completion of a first principles cost estimate for the proposed route safety upgrade works on Strathpine Samford Road.
Bellwether carried out a first principles cost estimate for the proposed route safety upgrade works on Strathpine Samford Road. In addition, three cost estimates for each of the three options for the Lilley Road Intersection Upgrade were carried out, plus a Class 5 (high level) cost estimate for the Mount Samson Road pedestrian and cyclist bridge.
Bellwether delivered cost estimates developed in accordance with TMR’s Project Cost Estimating Manual and TMR’s organizational policy. The Bellwether team conducted P50 and P90 cost estimates on several parts of this project, which gave the client more certainty of the outcomes. The final delivery included a cost estimating report detailing the methodology and assumptions.
Using the most up to date software, Bellwether delivered a cost estimating report that detailed the methodology and assumptions with greater accuracy and ultimately gave the client more confidence with the proposed plans.
