RMS – Link Road between Garfield Road / Denmark Road and Westminster Street at Riverstone

Project Description

The NSW Government is planning to build a link road from the intersection of Garfield Road West and Denmark Road at Riverstone to Westminster Street bridge at Schofields.

Riverstone and the surrounding area are integral to the North West Growth Centre (NWGC) where about 200,000 people are expected to reside in the next 15 years. This rise in population and development is expected to generate an increase in traffic for the area.

Roads and Maritime has developed a NWGC Road Network Strategy which includes a series of road network upgrades to support the expected growth. These proposed upgrades would be delivered in three key phases; short, medium and long-term and are subject to availability of funding.

Garfield Road currently provides the only direct link between Richmond Road and Windsor Road and crosses the railway line at the Riverstone level crossing. The short-term work within the NWGC Road Network Strategy aims to improve traffic flow around Riverstone.
