Bellwether is proud to support the Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) as part of the Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline (FGP) Readiness Program on CAPEX cost estimate, a major regional initiative focused on long‑term water security for industry and community customers across Gladstone. Upgrades to the Gladstone (GWTP) and Yarwun (YWTP) Water Treatment Plants will modernise critical infrastructure, improve operational resilience, and prepare the network for future supply from the Fitzroy River system.
Recent progress has focused on early‑phase estimating and planning, helping GAWB refine scope, confirm key design directions and prepare for the next stage of development. Collaborative engagement between Bellwether, GAWB and the broader design team has ensured smooth alignment, with treatment process enhancements, chemical system upgrades and modernised electrical and control infrastructure shaping the foundation of the works ahead. Each element has been developed with long‑term operational resilience and future growth in mind.
The program is now moving toward the release of updated design packages in early 2026, followed by market engagement and procurement activities later in the year. These upgrades will deliver more robust, reliable and future‑ready treatment capacity for one of Queensland’s most important industrial regions.
