This project involved the construction of a ‘Turn Key’ yard and laydown area for Arrow Energy in Dalby, QLD. Arrow Energy required a Principal Contractor to manage the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of this project. The work site is classified as a brownfield area near an operating oil and gas site and included moderately complex service relocations including electrical and communications conduits.
As the Principal Contractor, the Bellwether team managed all aspects of this EPC project, including feasibility costing and concept design, statutory approvals, relevant government departments and council applications and liaison and communication with community leaders, community members and council representatives.
The team managed all construction elements of the project including geotechnical investigations and design development, all construction activities and operation and maintenance handover at completion.
As the Principal Contractor, the Bellwether team also successfully managed a number of specialist subcontractors to deliver various aspects of the project.
Operating in a sensitive oil and gas environment, the Bellwether team proactively communicated with stakeholders and the community to ensure a ‘no surprises’ approach on this project. This ensured the project ran smoothly and was delivered five weeks early. The Bellwether team’s considered approach to construction management also ensured the project was delivered to budget and a safe worksite was maintained at all times.
This project has added to Bellwether’s long history of successfully delivering design and construct projects within the Darling Downs.
