The Queensland Government is investing in park ’n’ ride expansion projects across the south-east Queensland transport network to support continued growth and patronage. Expansion of the existing Park n Ride carpark at Virginia Train Station included an additional 51 new carparking spaces, a Bike Enclosure to accommodate 32 bikes, PUP decommissioning and diversions.

The works have provided an additional 51 new carparking spaces which removes vehicles requiring to park on Wellington Street and has provided a new Bike Enclosure facility to encourage patrons to cycle to the train station. People with a disability will benefit from improved access and dedicated parking spaces. Other benefits include safer pedestrian access to the station and dedicated parks for motorcycles. Transport and Main Roads Director-General Neil Scales said the park ’n’ ride upgrade was a vital project for Virginia and northside commuters.
