Sector

WATER

The project is located about 35km west of Nairnsdale. The Stony Creek site extends through both Crown land and freehold land, Stony Creek is a tributary of the Mitchell River. Stony Creek joins the Wattle Creek and enters the east side of the Mitchell River approximately 5.5 kilometers upstream of the Glenaladale-Lindenow Road Bridge over the Mitchell River.

The designer reviewed an options study completed a few years ago for the Lindenow Irrigation area in Gippsland for Southern Rural Water. As part of the study, they concentrated, on one option which is a 17GL dam with pump station and pipeline. They required a consultant to review two costs previously completed for the study and provide an estimate.

What we delivered

Bellwether reviewed the cost estimates previously completed and provided the following:

  • Identification of key differences
  • Identifies new rates where applicable for creation of an updated estimate (updated quantities will be provided for this)
  • Identification areas of concern where high or low rates may have been adopted
  • A summary of the review.
“Options study for the Lindenow Irrigation area in Gippsland for Southern Rural Water.”

Key outcomes

In the process, it was decided that the best way to form a basis for the comparison was to produce an independent P90 estimate of the Stony Creek 17GL Dam with pump station and pipeline which allowed for more informed decision making.
