To support Sydney’s growing population, the Easing Sydney’s Congestion Program Office is working towards delivering significant improvements to reduce Sydney’s congestion. Key initiatives include the delivery of the M4 Smart Motorway, the Parramatta Congestion Improvement Program and accelerated Pinch Point and Clearways Programs.
Transport for NSW required an independent review team to review and comment from a constructability and compliance perspective on the project deliverables and designs produced by the professional services contractors appointed to deliver the works.
Transport for NSW with a number of independent reviews to date, including validating estimates, constructability assessments, critically examining the logic of project schedules, and seeking out risks and opportunities during all project phases.
Bellwether has also provided constructability advice to Transport for NSW. Our team of highly experienced infrastructure delivery experts have reviewed the projects and provided comments on the constructability of the design, relating to efficient construction methods, specification compliance and minimisation of impacts on stakeholders. This has helped the client make more informed decisions throughout the life of the project to date.
Bellwether’s local and experienced team has ensured that all of Transport for NSW’s expectations have been met, if not exceeded, to date. This includes providing more certainty to the client around methodology and price to ensure a robust and prepared approach when taking the project to market. This is an ongoing engagement and Bellwether continues to support Transport for NSW as required.
As part of this project, Bellwether has initiated the adoption of an agile workplace on behalf of the client, which is not an approach that is often seen across construction projects. This has meant that the team has been able to engage with the right experts, at the right time, across the country. In some cases this has increased efficiencies, saved time and delivered the best outcomes for the project.
