Noosa Parade forms part of the SEQ Principal Cycle Network and is arguably one of Noosa’s busiest routes for pedestrian and cyclist activity. The major upgrade will provide improved and safer access for all road users by:
• reducing the speed limit to 40km/h
• providing dedicated and continuous on-road cycle lanes in both directions
• upgrading the northern pathway to 2.5m wide and 3m wide where possible
• upgrading the southern pathway to 1.5m wide
• providing eight mid-block pedestrian refuges
• installing improved LED lighting.
• enhanced landscaping and new trees that will provide extra shade and improve visual amenity. 1.2km
Streetscape Upgrade involved;
• Clearing & Demolition Works
• Coordination of Telstra & Unity Water Existing Surface Feature Upgrades
• Installation of Rate 2 Electrical & Stormwater Drainage
• Traffic Staging & Switching for the Construction of Shoulder and Median Pavement Works under live conditions
• Stakeholder Engagement and Careful Planning to manage the reconstruction of 76 active driveways
• Reconstruction of 6000m2 of plain, coloured, and exposed footpath, and hardscaped verges

The project was subject to a large number of scope changes, weather impacts and other unexpected obstacles.
Noosa Shire Council adopted a collaborative approach to the management of this project, which greatly assisted Bellwether achieving practical completion on time.
