The NSW Government has committed to upgrading the ageing Circular Quay ferry wharves. The Circular Quay Precinct Renewal project was formed as the 70-year-old wharves were nearing the end of their design life and required modernisation to improve accessibility and allow for future growth. The public space around the interchange also needs to be improved to manage the movements of people with different destinations, such as customers and visitors, and to open up connections and views to surrounding areas.
TfNSW recognised an immediate need to upgrade the Circular Quay ferry wharves to make them accessible for all customers and to cater for further growth. TfNSW required an experienced Constructability Lead to deliver advice within review stages varying from concept designs to constructability, preparation of business case, and structured market engagement.
Working with Transport for New South Wales and the New South Wales Government, Bellwether is supporting the project as the Constructability Lead, contributing advice during delivery of the concept designs and preparation of briefing information on technical aspects related to the preparation of a final business case and structured market engagement.
To date, the Bellwether team has provided valuable marine and other constructability inputs to support the design development of this project.
