Arthur Drewett Drive, Burpengary, is classified as a sub-arterial in Council’s road hierarchy. This road carried approximately 6,000 vehicles per day in 2018 and according to strategic transport modelling is forecast to carry 8,000 vehicles per day by the year 2031. The section to be rehabilitated is approximate length of 665m from the intersection with Old Bay Road north and west to the seal change on the western side of the bridge over the Bruce Highway. The traffic was managed through the worksite with both weekend shutdowns and night shift works completed. The project involves the following scope of works.
• Milling of existing wearing course and offsite disposal
• Foam bitumen/lime stabilisation of existing Cement treated basecourse material
• Primer Seal
• BCC Type 3 Asphalt Wearing course
• EME2 asphalt basecourse
• Line marking, signs, fencing
The project required detailed planning to minimise the impacts on the affected road network.
The project was completed to a high standard and on schedule.
