TRANSPORT
The North Brisbane Bikeway is a critical cycle corridor for greater Brisbane, ultimately connecting the Brisbane CBD through to Chermside. A Memorandum of Understanding between BCC and TMR was established in 2013 to collaboratively deliver the North Brisbane Bikeway from Bowen Hills to Chermside. TMR is delivering from Bowen Hills to Price Street, Wooloowin.
TMR required a consultant to conduct an independent review of the Contract Documentation for two Transport Infrastructure Contract – Construct Only packages as part of the detailed design of the bikeway to ensure that all commercial and technical risks were adequately addressed.
Bellwether collaborated with the TMR project and design team to review the available project information and proposed contract documentation which included all forms, contract annexures, specification annexures, supplementary specifications and drawings. Potential commercial and technical risks were identified and changes to the contract documentation proposed to mitigate the risk to TMR and Council.
Bellwether’s comprehensive review of the contract documentation identified several proposed improvements to achieve enhanced value for money outcomes and provide certainty for TMR through reduced variations during the delivery of the works.
